About the role
As a Software Engineer III, you will serve as a core contributor within your engineering team, responsible for delivering high-quality software with minimal support. You will implement solutions designed by the team while employing Test Driven Development (TDD) and accelerated delivery through the effective use of Artificial Intelligence. You play a key role in mentoring junior engineers (SDE I) and fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Propose designs, test, code, and instrument new solutions in partnership with juniors with minimal support, implementing features based on designs and architectural patterns reviewed and agreed upon by the team.
- Mentor juniors and new team members, helping them navigate technical challenges and understand team processes to foster their growth.
- Monitor, measure, and inspect operational and quality metrics. Proactively surface opportunities for improving service performance and system health to the wider team.
- Support production solutions with proactive monitoring, rapid incident response, and continuous improvement. Analyze systems to identify bottlenecks.
- Learn the team process and best practices, independently apply them to given tasks and provide feedback to improve team performance.
- Learn new technologies, sharing your findings and learnings with the team to demonstrate mastery of the content and promote adoption.
- Work closely with senior team members to review work, ensuring code is readable, maintainable, and covered by comprehensive test suites.
- Strengthen and drive the engineering process using TDD and BDD, Microservice and Vertical Slice Architectures (VSA).
- Leverage AI-powered development tools (for example code completion and refactoring assistance) to enhance coding efficiency and maintain high code quality.
