Senior Product Engineer

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Engineer to join an AI startup building autonomous agents that automate business operations. You’ll work directly with a small, highly technical team, helping design, build, and scale AI-powered products while owning projects from idea to production.

This is a highly hands-on engineering role. We’re looking for someone with strong computer science fundamentals, excellent technical judgment, and the ability to solve complex engineering problems in fast-paced startup environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and launch product features end-to-end
• Design scalable backend systems and APIs
• Develop production-quality code across backend and frontend applications
• Manage cloud deployments and infrastructure
• Implement monitoring, analytics, and observability tools
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decisions
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams
• Document solutions and share technical knowledge

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong computer science and programming fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, system design, and software architecture)
• Strong experience with TypeScript
• Experience with React, Nuxt, or similar modern frontend frameworks
• Experience with Python
• Experience building APIs and cloud-based applications
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (Firestore or similar)
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals
• Product-oriented mindset
• Ability to work independently and make technical decisions
• Professional English communication skills
• Previous professional experience with at least one of the following languages: Clojure, Go, Rust, Elixir, or Scala

Note: Experience with Clojure, Go, Rust, Elixir, or Scala is important because engineers who have worked with these languages typically demonstrate strong software engineering fundamentals and functional or systems programming concepts.

Hiring Process

1. Profile Screening (Consultancy)
2. Technical Conversation (Consultancy)
3. Coding Challenge (Client) – 20-minute LeetCode-style coding exercise to evaluate programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
4. Pair Programming Session (Client) – 90-minute collaborative coding exercise. Candidates will work on a small project using the tools of their choice. The focus is on engineering decisions, prioritization, communication, and implementation approach rather than completing the entire solution.
5. System Design Interview (Client) – 60-minute live system design session with the engineering team. Candidates will design a solution in real time, explaining architectural decisions, trade-offs, scalability, and technical reasoning.

Important: Every stage of the client’s interview process is technical. We’re looking for engineers with strong hands-on coding ability, excellent problem-solving skills, and deep software engineering fundamentals.

Location: Remote

Compensation: USD 80,000 – 100,000/year
